STORRINGTON drew 0-0 at home to Lancing to register their first point of the season today (Saturday, August 30) in their second match.
Their Division 2 campaign delayed by ground drainage work makings-good, Swans were more creative and comfortable after new manager Ricky Hamilton changed his full-backs and was forced into central midfield changes by unavailability.

Chris Johnson,
the Reserves skipper, and Andy Beaumont came in at full-back and youth team player Harry Abrahams and the more experienced John Rhodie into mid-park.

Longish grass and midday heat after a 2pm start helped provoke a drab match. Both teams could have had a penalty, and Lancing may have escaped when Storrington's Greg Palmer appeared to have had his legs taken.

Joe Howard missed Lancers' best chance while newly-signed keeper from Shoreham, Luke Green, kept out Swans' best chance until they missed two, late on.

STORRINGTON: Elliott; Johnson, Blaydon, Day, Beaumont; Cook; Abrahams, Rhodie, Ayres; Palmer, Chilvers. Subs: Humphries (Blaydon 70), Leaver (Ayres 75), Hodgson (Chilvers 80), Reilly, Todman.

LANCING: Green; Berry, Miles, Ford, Gurney; Boswell, Jacob, Garnham, R.Loversidge; Partridge, N.Loversidge. Subs: Howard (Boswell, ankle ligs 16), West (Garnham 72), McCabe (N.Loverside 85). Att: 42.

Worthing United were beaten 2-1 at Oakwood in Division 1, despite enjoying a fifth-minute lead from Adam Hunt's second strike of the season. Oakwood were given a 2-1 half-time lead by Lee Butcher and Russ Mortimer, and it stayed that way.

That is four straight FA Cup and league defeats for The Mavericks.
