NOVEMBER was a busy month on the Worthing Herald's website, with video and picture galleries proving popular with readers.
Below are Worthing's most-read stories for November 2008

1. VOTE: New bid for Worthing sex shop

Secret Desires sex shop generated a lengthy debate in its comments section on the website.

It was part of the newspaper's weekly vote which had 60 per cent of participants voting in favour of a licence.

2. VIDEO: Remembrance in Worthing

Hundreds of people gathered at Worthing Town Hall for the act of remembrance on Sunday, November 9.

The Herald's video of the service was seen by many more.

3. GALLERY: Sussex wartime memories

A slide show of photographs taken during the Second World War by Herald photographers has been on the website for more than a year, and pictures have appeared online in some form for many years.

During November, when thoughts turn to remembering the war dead, this historic document reminds people what the town went through in the 1940s.

4. VIDEO: Stagecoach drivers pull a bus along Worthing seafront

Stagecoach bus drivers were filmed pulling a bus along Worthing prom to raise money for the annual BBC Children In Need appeal.

5. GALLERY: Prince Andrew opens restored Shoreham tollbridge

The Duke of York visited Shoreham to reopen the tollbridge, back in October.

This royal visit proved extremely popular, with thousands of people watching the slide show of photographs taken during the visit.

6. VIDEO: Shoppers run for cover as fireworks let off in Worthing town centre

Towards the end of October and throughout November, the sound of fireworks is usual, but not in the morning in Worthing town centre.

The Herald caught the drama on camera as man was arrested on the roof of the High Street car park after fireworks were set off and directed into Chatsworth Road below.

7. GALLERY: Weekend sport, Saturday, November 8

The regular picture galleries of sporting events across the area are growing in popularity.

This popular slide show has pictures from Littlehampton FC v Eastbourne United, Mile Oak v Loxwood, as well as rugby with Worthing RFC v Rosslyn Park.

As the panto season is upon us, interviews, pictures, and video of Worthing's pantomime stars are growing in popularity.

Actress Rula Lenska talks about her role in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Connaught Theatre.

Every week a selection of news headlines is videoed for the web, with reporters taking it in turns to act as newsreader.

Chief reporter Chris Taylor's bulletin featured news of St Symphorian's parishioners being targeted by thieves, sex shop Secret Desires licence bid, and remembrance services and Worthing ladies hockey club thrashing the under-strength Eastbourne Cygnets.

10. INTERVIEW: Mark Little talks about his role in panto in Worthing

Former star of soap opera Neighbours, comedian Mark Little, talks about his role in Worthing's other major panto this year.

Mark, who lives in Hove, plays Muddles in Snow White at Worthing's Pavilion Theatre.
