SOLID traffic has blocked routes out of central Worthing, before the rush hour has started.
Yesterday (Tuesday, May 20) road works along Broadwater Road delayed drivers trying to get avoid works at Brooklands on the A259.

A driver who alerted the Herald this afternoon (Wednesday, May 21) said: "There's a solid queue at Sompting Avenue, queuing all the way to the roundabout at Sompting Road and Dominion Road.

"There may be a reason for it but can't see what.

"It's unusual to have congestion like this at this time of day."

Today cars are backed up all the way along Broadwater Road, Sompting Avenue and Sompting Road, up to the A27 at Lyons Farm.

Traffic is also backed up in both directions due to gas main works on the A259 at East Worthing.

Have you been stuck in the traffic?

What do you think is causing the delays?

How long is it taking you to travel short distances?
