HATS off to the BBC and those who have been highlighting the billion-pound industry selling bottled water.
There are many places around the world where bottled water is a necessity, but not in Britain.

We have water instantly available out of the tap. We've got one of the purest tap waters in the world – it's one of the things the water industry has go
t right.

One soppy woman interviewed in the television documentary, questioned why she bought bottled water, replied: "It must be better, mustn't it?

No, madam, it isn't and you've got more money than sense.

Buying bottled water in the UK is obscene, especially when it comes from places like Fiji, where people are dying only a few miles from the bottling plant, because they do not have access to pure drinking water.

It's also obscene because of the huge damage the industry is doing in creating all these plastic bottles which are then thrown away.

Come, on, if you've money to throw away on bottled water you can get from the taps, give it to the Salvation Army instead.

And when you next go to a restaurant and want water on the table, ask for tap water in a jug. If they refuse and offer only bottled water, walk out.

They'll soon get the message.
