WORTHING Golf Club’s Peter Tarver-Jones secured his second EuroPro title in as many weeks with victory at the Oxfordshire Golf Club.
Tarver-Jones claimed his first ever EuroPro win with success in the WPT Invitational two weeks ago and he followed that up with a two shot victory in Oxfordshire on Friday.
The Worthing golfer has now moved up to second in the EuroPro order of merit and he was delighted with his victory.
He said: “The victory is a huge boost for my confidence.
“I set myself a goal of picking up two EuroPro title wins this season and I have now reached that.
“But that is not the end of the events and I need to knuckle down and concentrate on my event this week.
“I am going to make sure my preparation is right. No player has ever won three EuroPro titles on the bounce, so that is my aim now.
Tarver-Jones’ latest win means he has booked his place on the Challenge Tour for next year as he has now confirmed his place in the top five of the order of merit.
He believes the Challenge Tour will offer a great opportunity for him and said: “My aim was to make the Challenge Tour and, fortunately, I have managed to achieve this.
“This will provide a great opportunity for me now as events are held across Europe, Africa, China and the UAE.
“But I must look at my planning for the year ahead, with so many tournaments and travelling costs to be looked at and considered.”
