SOUTHWICK Football Club boss John Kilgarriff described his side’s showing against Crawley Down Gatwick on Tuesday as one of the worst he has seen from them.

Kilgarriff, who has been in charge for three seasons, saw Wickers slip to a home reverse in Division 1.

They went ahead through a fine lobbed effort from George Rudwick on 15 minutes but that was as good as it got.

Crawley Down were level on the half-hour when Luke Trotter netted.

They then went ahead for the first time through Dave Houlders’ strike six minutes before the break.

The game was all but over on 50 minutes when Oli Leslie made it 3-1.

Kilgarriff was less than impressed and said: “It was up there with the worst performance I have seen from us in three seasons.

“That is taking nothing away from Crawley Down, they were excellent.

“They were quicker, stronger and just better all round than we were.

“It’s still early in the season but this was such a poor display.

“I think a few changes will need to be made ahead of Saturday’s game at Seaford.”

Wickers have signed Chad Milner from East Preston.

SOUTHWICK: Hollis; Gregory, Denyer, Lipscombe, Gillard; Finney, Myers, Rudwick; Hudson, Donnelly, McDowell. Subs: Clayton (Myers), Rhodes (Denyer), Tucker, Watts.
