Lancing slip to second straight league loss

LANCING Football Club fell to their second successive league defeat at Dorking Wanderers on Tuesday.

Lancers’ were defeated at home on Saturday by Eastbourne Town and they suffered the same outcome at Dorking.

Lancing had gone six games without tasting defeat before Saturday but have now lost on two occasions.

It was the hosts’ who started the brighter and took the lead in the 16th minute when Luke Hackett crashed home a shot.

It was two just three minutes later as Daryl Coleman bagged his first of the match.

Lancing went close to grabbing an equaliser but Marcus Robertshaw shot just wide.

Dorking all but ended the contest on the half hour when Tom Tolfrey made it three.

The hosts’ continued their dominance in the second period as Tolfrey bagged his second of the game on 50 minutes to put the game beyond Lancing.

Coleman then added his second with just three minutes to go as lancing fell to a heavy loss and their second in the space of four days.

Lancing will be hoping to pick up their first win in three matches on Saturday when they entertain Arundel in County Division 1.
