LITTLEHAMPTON Football Club progressed into the quarter-finals of the Peter Bentley Cup with a 3-0 win at home to Shoreham last night.
Golds went ahead on 14 minutes when Alex Kew tapped the ball home after the Shoreham keeper had spilled a long-range Dan Swain shot.
The hosts doubled their advantage on 36 minutes when Josh Bates headed home a David O’Callaghan corner from inside the six-yard box.
Littlehampton made it 3-0 just two minutes into the second half when Ross McKay netted following a goalmouth scramble.
Golds had chances to score more but Kew was denied by a brilliant save and the hosts also missed a couple of one-on-one opportunities.
Littlehampton gave a debut to youth-team player Jack Pierce in the second half.
Golds will entertain Chichester in the last eight and manager Mark Bennett said: “It was pretty straight forward, to be honest, and it was good to get through.
“We could have scored more and, although they huffed and puffed, I don’t think Jon Hendrick had a save to make.”
