The action gets underway on Sunday, June 14, when Sussex Sharks meet Surrey in a T20 match, before Sussex host Durham in County Championship Division 1 from June 15 to 18.

A host of international stars are set to be in action in the T20 clash as Sussex, captained by Luke Wright – who won the T20 World Cup with England in 2010 – will include Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardena in their side.

Michael Yardy, who won the World Cup with Wright, and current England all-rounder Chris Jordan could also be involved for Sussex.

Surrey include Jason Roy, the tournament’s top runscorer, with 677 last year, in their squad, while Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara and Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz have played as their overseas stars so far this year.

Kevin Pietersen is also among Surrey’s ranks, although he has not played for the county in this year’s competition yet.

The County Championship match follows the T20 game and both Sussex and Durham have started the season strongly.
