Charman on target as Horsham make FA Cup progress

Horsham booked a First Qualifying Round FA Cup tie with South Park after a 2-0 win away at Ryman South rivals Walton & Hersham on Saturday.

Both of the visitors’ goals came in the final 20 minutes of the match, captain Gary Charman with his fourth of the season after coming through a late fitness test and Scott Harris wrapping it up in the 89th minute.

The Hornets were helped by the sending off of Warren Gleddy just before half-time for an off the ball incident after the hosts had enjoyed the better of the first half.

The reward for Simon Colbran and his side is a welcome £2,000 in prize money and a trip to Combined Counties side South Park on Saturday September 14.
