AN early goal started Mile Oak Football Club's downfall on Tuesday evening as they crashed 3-0 at Eastbourne UA.
A excellent performance from Oak keeper Aaron Stenning, with numerous saves, including a penalty stop, kept Eastbourne within touching distance in the first half, before Oak had a couple of chances to get back into the game go begging after the break
.

Oak striker Tony Burnett said: "It's always going to be a tough place to go, but we normally do all right down there."

Danny Andrews converted for Eastbourne after just seven minutes from the penalty spot, after a Steve Porter foul.

Stenning made three fine saves to keep Oak in it as they battled against a strong wind, but constant pressure paid off for Eastbourne just before the half-hour mark.

A ball put in between Chris Paine and Porter at the back was run on to by Lucas Mann, who tapped home from 16 yards.

After the break, Stenning was on hand to save a spot-kick, after Nick Lansdale's rash challenge.

Oak then created a couple of their own chances. Peter Martin's cross-shot went just wide of the post as Mark Aylett stretched to get on the end of it. Aylett's volley was then cleared off the line, Kieran Howard shot wide and Lansdale and Burnett headed over.

Despite the pressure, it was Eastbourne who had the final say when Lee Jules got their third in the final minute.

OAK: Stenning; Paine, Lamont, Porter, Lansdale; Howard, Whiting, Curley, Ash; Aylett, Martin. Subs: Sargent (Lamont 49), Hollick (Curley 60), Burnett (Aylett 72), Austin-Slade.
