SOUTHWICK Cricket Club captain Chris Summers is targeting three wins from his side's next three matches to move up the Division 1 table.
Wickers are third-bottom and, after their defeat to Crawley Eagles on Saturday, are 34 points adrift of fourth-bottom Eagles.
Summers said: "Our next three games are against Ram, Wisborough Green and Selsey, and we are looking to get 90 points because our target is to stay in Division 1."
Summers was hoping to win the toss and have a bowl first on Saturday because Wickers had not played at Eagles' ground before. But, he lost the toss, and Southwick went into bat first on a difficult wicket.
Openers Peter Fieldwick and Russell Martin put on a patient 52 in 24 overs before Fieldwick was run out for 10 runs from 69 balls.
With just 12 overs left in their innings, Southwick had only 90 runs but a 75-run sixth-wicket stand between Summers and Paul Cannings enabled Wickers to reach 177-6 off their 49 overs.
Summers hit nine fours in his 53, from 38 deliveries, and Cannings scored 17 not out.
Martin was earlier out for 53, with seven fours, from 108 balls.
Wickers then dropped five catches in Eagles' innings and lost by five wickets.
Four of the drops came off Summers' bowling, and he said: "We just didn't have any luck. Although we put down some chances, the diving ones stopped them from getting more runs."
