OH dear, the Brooklands Park white lining has returned and, with it, the rush-hour tailbacks from the traffic lights to the Half Brick.
The council just doesn't get it, does it?

Perhaps we should spell it out.

Left-turning motorists can do so only at about five miles per hour.

Buses and HGVs heading for Shoreham also queue in the inside lane and proceed at the same, slo
w pace.

Meanwhile, traffic in the the unimpeded outer lane has sped off and cleared.

A few law-abiding drivers, however, will not enter the cross-hatched area, even though the outer lane ahead is empty.

Result?

Unnecessary carbon dioxide emissions and steam emitted from frustrated motorists.

Short of staging a stationary car protest and bringing Worthing to a standstill, what can be done to force the council to come to its senses?

Barry Mitchell
