SEEING the photo (below, left) in the Bygones Extra article in the Shoreham Herald of June 26, I am sure that myself and my friend are in it.
I am the one with bicycle on the right of the picture.

My mother was working in Mrs Guest's house when the window was blown in, just missing her in Croft Avenue.

I was 15 at the time. The Valiant Bomber came over our school in Middle Road, Shoreham, and we saw the cockpit come off.

We all said it was going to crash – and then it looked like it had in Kingston Lane.

Mrs Charles, the headmaster, asked us to go and see if we could help.

It was still smoking when we got to the recreation ground.

The remains were everywhere.
