I RECENTLY visited St Mary's Church, Shoreham, and just cannot work out the sundial on the south wall.
If, in fact, it is a sundial and the sun travels east to west, it would seem the sundial is either upside down or 180 degrees out.

Even British Summer Time or Greenwich Mean Time adjustment does not make it seem right.

I am sure locals know the answer, but the leaflet inside the church does not mention the sundial. I am intrigued.
