I AM sure nobody disputes the good that Shoreham Rugby Club does for youngsters.
Or that the players are upstanding members of the public and have spent many years working hard, building up the club, or that, in needing a home, have offered to do up the old pavilion after being denied planning permission to build their own HQ in
Buckingham Park.
However, what one is concerned about is the taking-over from someone who has also spent years building up a popular business, with the intention of profiting from it to bolster their funds.
Therefore, I am sure it must be understandable if the present leaseholder feels that working for oneself is not quite the same as working for someone else, especially, as I said, in a business that she has built up from nothing.
