WHILE I agree wholeheartedly with Adrian Towler's description of the interior of the Marlipins Museum ("Museum shouldn't shy away from the limelight", Your Views, June 18), it is just not possible to decorate the front of the building in the way he describes.
Marlipins is definitely worth visiting; it's a wonderful museum and a great community resource.

It is also one of the oldest lay buildings in Sussex, with a truly historic exterior protected by local and national controls.

Much as we would
like everybody to know what great things lie within this building, we simply can't put some fresh paint and a great, big sign on the front.

We will continue to welcome any ideas on how to publicise this jewel of Shoreham.

It really does need your help if it is to stay open to the public.

James Thatcher
senior custodian
Marlipins Museum
