Any road up, let's have some courtesy

WHILE motoring along the A27, approaching Shoreham, late at night, I was suddenly made aware of a "road closed" sign 200 yards ahead.
Very adequately signed, yes. But there was nothing to advise where to go.

So others, like me, were left floundering around a no-man's land of side roads, with parked cars and narrow roads, with no signs showing where to rejoin the A27 or anywhere else familiar.

Why on earth can the Highways Agency (and the local authority) not provide decent signposting when any main highway is closed?

Accidents can and will happen if some sort of remedy is not taken.

Surely we, the motoring fraternity, deserve more courtesy, or is that word out of date in today's "don't care" attitude?

We pay enough for the privilege of driving to expect better returns.

Let's hope someone takes notice before it's too late.
