Boys from the school in Sackville Road, Broadwater, arrived at Beechwood Hall in Wykeham Road in limousines and even a bus, pulling out all the stops and dressing up for the special occasion, on Wednesday, June 25.
They were joined by their guests, school staff and governors.
Ian Straw, of the school, said: "I would like to thank the prom committee for working so hard to ensure that this event ran smoothly.
"All the staff at St Andrew's wish our leavers the best of luck for the future."
Everyone was searched before going into the venue by members of a security team on the door.
Boys were asked to turn out their pockets and women guests had their handbags searched.
According to a spokeswoman for the school, this happens at the prom every year to "make sure the venue and the whole evening is safe for the youngsters."
