A PIMMS reception marked the start of the celebrations at the Lancing College Leavers' Ball.
More than 300 students and staff dressed in their finery for the ball, moving from the reception to dinner in the dining hall and then a dance with a live band.

The finale of the evening was a fireworks display.

The event also marked the retirement of senior master Christopher Doidge, who had worked at the college for 37 years.

He said: "It was a very successful evening and it was probably one of our best.

"It was very busy on the dance floor and the first time we had had fireworks. This was my last leavers' ball as well and I thought it would be good to go out with a bang."
