LETTER: Thanks from the Friends

As the Friends of Southlands hospital start to pack away the shop and tea bar after being in its present position for many years, I would like to say a huge thank-you to all the volunteers that have manned the service and given so much for the benefit of others.

I would also like to say a big thank-you to the staff and patients for all their support over the years, it has meant so much.

The good news is that the Friends will be resurfacing in the new ophthalmology unit, which is currently under construction.

The opening date has yet to be fixed but it is anticipated late spring/early summer, but watch for news when it happens.

Once again, my sincere thanks to everyone who has helped us provide so much for the hospital and please support us with the new venture and we can still provide Southlands with the personal touch it has always had.
