I was saddened to hear of the death of Peter Berry.
While Peter and I disagreed on most things political, there was no doubting his commitment to the community and the dedication with which he worked tirelessly on behalf of residents when a councillor.
He was a public servant of the ‘old school’ and earned and deserved the respect of many, including his political opponents.
Notably, he was one of a few members of the Labour Party locally who put politics aside and joined the ultimately successful KWASH campaign to save hospital services at Worthing, for which we were all very grateful.
He will be greatly missed.
