Worthing gas leak: Emergency services cordon off road

Emergency services have responded to a gas leak in Worthing.

According to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, it was called shortly before 9am to ‘reports of a smell of gas’ in Montague Street.

"Joint Fire Control sent one fire engine from Worthing to the scene,” a fire service spokesperson said.

"Firefighters cordoned off the area and they are currently assisting Sussex Police and the on-site gas engineer to make the scene safe.
