Congratulations to Clare Curtis who won this month’s Drabble competition with a cheeky twist.
Greatest Show on Earth!
The American audience waited in anticipation and, as everyone fell silent, the old adversaries took to the stage. On the left, a bullish man known for his outrageous rhetoric and blonde mop. On the right, a small lady in full makeup with an indignant, smug face.
As before, arguments started immediately, this time concerning children and childcare. The crowd knew a good show was to follow.
Suddenly, from the back of the stage, a crocodile appeared.
“He’s behind you!” shouted the children. As Mrs Punch turned to look, Mr Punch whacked her over the head with a truncheon.
This month’s competition has a seasonal theme. It’s Christmas Eve on the International Space Station. There’s a knock at the door and someone – or something – enters with some odd-looking packages. Stories 250 to 300 words, please, to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, November 28.
Send us news of your events and we will try and include a mention on the page.
