FIVE university students are tackling a run from Winchester to Paris to raise money for a cancer charity.
Adam Davey, 21, from Shoreham, will set off from Winchester University with Charlie Preston, Joshua Stevenson, Ben Mitchem and Ryan Pierce on Monday.
He said the 182-mile run would take them through his home town, en route to the ferry at Newhaven.
They are due to arrive in Paris on June 8.
The students all know someone affected by cancer and wanted to help fight it by raising money for Cancer Research UK.
The run will take two weeks, with four days off, mainly sticking to paths and countryside. Safety cars will be meeting them at set checkpoints to provide food and clean clothes.
The 22.7-mile leg through Worthing, Shoreham and Brighton is scheduled for May 29 to 31. The group arrives in Shoreham tomorrow evening and has a day off on Friday.
The aim is to raise up to £5,000, with more than £2,600 already pledged. Visit www.justgiving.com/WinchesterToParis to make a donation.
