A MAN wanted in connection with a series of robberies was reported to be seen in Lancing this afternoon (April 1)

Police hunting for Liam Newman swooped on Elm Grove in Lancing on Wednesday afternoon (April 1) following a reported sighting of him there.

Ground units supported by a National Police Air Service helicopter searched the area following the call at 2.15pm, but he was not located.

Newman, 30, of no fixed address, has links to addresses and associates in Worthing, Lancing, Southwick and Shoreham.

These are all places where robberies have occurred at betting agencies, shops and takeaways in recent weeks.

Anyone who knows where he may be sleeping or places that he may frequent are advised not to approach him, but to report any sightings to police.
