MANY flowers have bloomed early this year, but there was still a huge array of colourful daffodils and spring flowers on display in Steyning on Saturday.
Steyning Horticultural Society held its Spring Show at the Steyning Centre and the judge, Eric Norrell, said the standard was excellent once again.
Society chairman Charles Ashby said there had been a large number of entries, as many as 14 in some of the flower classes, despite spring coming early this year.
He walked away with the major prizes for the best blooms, including the best bloom in show, which Mr Ashby had grown from one of the free daffodil bulbs the society gave away last autumn.
Several people had entered the show for the first time and Mr Ashby said it was good to see some of them awarded prizes.
