VIDEO: Dog of the Week – Ernie

ERNIE has travelled to Dogs Trust Shoreham from Ireland and the charity has no background information.

Staff say the four-year-old male Brittany spaniel is a lovely dog, friendly and affectionate with people.

“He enjoys having cuddles and is also partial to a gentle massage to help relax,” said Dogs Trust.

“Ernie loves to play with toys, especially squeaky ones. However, we are teaching him chill time as well, so he enjoys lying down with a tasty rawhide to chew.

“He likes other dogs and plays with his kennel friends a lot here, so based on this, we feel he must live with another dog.”

Ernie will benefit from lots of exercise and interactive games, travels well in the car and is well behaved when walking alongside traffic. Training will help to control a tendency to be excitable on the lead.

A multi-household home with older children is needed and as Ernie is anxious when left alone, someone will need to be around all the time.

Dogs Trust said: “Ernie is a lovely dog and he would much prefer to be in his forever home with a loving family than struggling here in kennels.”
