LOCAL young musicians were devastated to hear that their vintage Bedford van, Vanessa, has been vandalised beyond repair whilst parked at the Old Fort on Shoreham Beach.

Laura Ward and Adam Ronchetti, both 25 years old, had plans to use Vanessa as a means to collect and reinterpret regional folk music as part of their Hickory Signals project (www.facebook.comhickorysignals).

Their first EP was recently launched at West Street Loft to an enthusiastic audience and their next gig is at Union Record Store in Lewes on Saturday 7th June.

Any information about the vandalism should be reported to the police on 101. The damage took place sometime between Sunday 1 and Wednesday 4 June 2014.
