A spokesman for Southern Water said: “We’ve identified a small leak on a pipe in Worthing High Street. This is likely to be connected to the hole that has appeared. There is an inspector on site and we’ll work as quickly as possible to fix this and re-open the road. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
