A SHOREHAM woman was arrested but later released without action in a firearms incident today.
Police were called by a man who claimed a woman had pointed a gun at him from behind a window when he called at a house in Middle Road, Shoreham, just before 1pm.
A firearms incident was declared and a search of the house was made but no firearm was found.
Part of Middle Road, from the junction of Hammy Lane and Stoney Lane, was closed for safety reasons.
A police spoksman said: “The man and woman are known to each other.
“A 29-year-old Shoreham woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear but has now been released without any further action.”
