The A270 Old Shoreham Road has been reopened after a collision between two cars and a woman pedestrian this morning (November 4).

Police were called to the collision at 11.35am on Friday (November 4) on the A270 Old Shoreham Road, Portslade, at the junction with Benfield Way.

The woman, a man driving one of the cars and a man who was a passenger in the other car, sustained injuries, police have said.

Police confirmed the woman was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.

A police spokesperson said: “No assessments of their conditions have yet been received.

“The road was closed in both directions and drivers have been advised to avoid the area for the time being.

“Anyone who saw what happened can contact Sussex Police via collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 498 of 04/11.”

Sussex Traffic Watch said the road was reported to have reopened.
