Two arson incidents in two hours in Horsham

Arsonists set two piles of rubbish alight in the space of two hours in Horsham yesterday evening (Thursday March 19).

Firefighters were called to extinguish flames in Orchard Road at about 8.40pm and at the rear of Elgar Way at around 10.30pm.

A small pile of rubbish was reported as being alight in Orchard Road, while a skip was set on fire in Elgar Way.

In both events, the flames were extinguished using buckets of water.

Both fires were started deliberately, the fire service said.
