A WINTER photograph taken by an Adur resident will feature on the front of the council chairman’s official Christmas card this year.
A competition is being launched today, in association with the Shoreham Herald, with the best entries featured in our newspaper.
Each year, the Adur Council chairman sends an official card and in recent years, it has been designed by schoolchildren, with the winner chosen in a competition for schools in the district.
This year, chairman Mike Mendoza wants to do something a bit different.
He said: “This year I want to hold a photographic competition that will be open to all. We want typical winter scenes, taken around the district.”
The competition is open to people of all ages in the Adur district and entries must be a photograph of a winter scene taken anywhere in Adur.
The winner will be judged by Adur Council chairman Mike Mendoza and Herald chief photographer Stephen Goodger.
The image chosen will be used for the Adur chairman’s Christmas card 2013, with the winner’s name printed on the back.
Send JPEG images to firstname.lastname@example.org, marked Adur Chairman’s Christmas Card 2013, or post prints to Adur Chairman’s Christmas Card 2013, c/o Elaine Hammond, Shoreham Herald, Cannon House, Chatsworth Road, Worthing, BN11 1NA.
Closing date for entries is midday on November 9.
