STRIKE action by teachers will affect youngsters across the region tomorrow.
Some schools will be closed completely for the day, some will be partially closed and others remain open as normal.
The National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the NAS/UWT trade unions are taking industrial action in an ongoing dispute over changes to pensions, workload and conditions of service, including pay.
Steyning Grammar School, Glebe Primary School in Southwick, and Buckingham Park Primary School in Shoreham are all closed.
Shoreham Academy, which serves Shoreham and Southwick, is open for sixth form and year 11 students only.
Also partially affected are Shoreham Beach Primary School and Holmbush Primary School in Shoreham, with one class closed at each, and Upper Beeding Primary School, with three out of 11 classes closed.
Eastbrook Primary School, Southwick, did not wish to comment but it is confirmed on its website ‘individual classes may be affected’.
When teachers are striking, schools are not allowed to cover the class with other staff.
Two Shoreham schools, St Peter’s Catholic Primary and St Nicolas and St Mary CE Primary, and Steyning Primary School, are all open to children as usual.
