ROCKERS have got together to run their own music event after a popular Southwick festival came to an end last year.
Rockin the Barn ended eight successful years at the Barn Theatre with a fabulous festival last year, when organisers Ian Smith, Brian Reeves and Paul Watts said they would ‘take time out’.
Mike Jennings said: “It looked like it was the end of what had become one of the highlights for music fans young and old of Southwick.
“However, Marcus Quilter from Iron Tyger and Karl Bashford from KXB decided it would be a great loss if the event did not continue.
“So this year, it will continue, but in a scaled down event, not that you will notice.”
Tygerfest takes place on Friday at the Southwick Street venue, followed by Parkinson’s 2 on Saturday.
On Friday, KXB will play alongside Sabbath to Hell, Europe’s only female-fronted Sabbath tribute band, and 80s rock tribute band Iron Tyger.
Tickets are £10 from the box office on 01273 597092, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Saturday show will be a sequel to last year’s charity concert in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
The line-up features Archie Deacon and the Bishops, Dirty Shoes and Mel Farmery with Lick.
