Christmas came early for pensioners in Southwick when Café Cube, in Southwick Square, provided a free Christmas lunch for more than 40 people on December 18.
Coffee and vegetables were donated, said owner Dayna Barlow, who took the café over 18 months ago.
“We thought it would be a nice thing to do, something to look forward to,” she added.
Dayna said she had put on a small Christmas lunch for pensioners last year, which had been appreciated, to she decided to expand it this year.
She said some older people in the town had no family nearby so it was nice for them to be able to meet up.
