COMMUNITY groups across West Sussex have benefited from grants totalling £130,000.
County Local Committees have been handing out public health prevention and wellbeing grants to voluntary and community sector organisations.
The scheme funds innovative, community-based activities for residents designed to enable people to get out and about, make friends and see others.
Adur CLC gave £3,000 to Adur Voluntary Action, £2,500 to Fishersgate Community Association and £1,863 to the As You Are Centre in Southwick.
Smaller amounts went to the Disabled Christians Fellowship, the Shoreham and Southwick group of the Independent Living Association, Cruse West Sussex and the PBC Foundation.
Chanctonbury CLC gave £700 to Friends, Families and Travellers, based in Brighton, £1,000 to St Barnabas House in Worthing, and £500 to In Safe and Caring Hands.
Smaller amounts went to Cruse West Sussex, SASBAH and Lifecentre.
However, the committee highlighted its disappointment on the small number of applications received and the lack of applications from local organisations.
It requested, if possible, for the rest of its allocation to be used within the Chanctonbury area, rather than it returning to a central pot.
