A Sussex charity has been left disappointed after a Dragon boat race was cancelled amid concerns over water quality.

Sussex children’s charity Rockinghorse said Sunday’s event would have to be rescheduled after Brighton harbour landlords, Premier Marinas, alerted the charity that water in the inner harbour did not meet bathing standards

Further tests are being carried out on the water quality at Brighton Marina and it is not known if the problem is confined to the harbour or affects more of the neighbouring coastline.

Rockinghorse have rescheduled the Dragon Boat Race for April 24 2016.

Set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, the charity helps children across Sussex who suffer from severe illnesses.
