STUNNING pianist Jonathan Vinten will start the new year at Steyning Jazz Club in style.

As the pianist with George Melly and John Chilton’s Feetwarmers for more than ten years, Jonathan has played extensively throughout the UK and beyond.

The Jonathan Vinten Trio will play for Steyning Jazz Club at the Steyning Centre on Friday.

Colin Jilks said: “Composer, arranger and gifted pianist, he has brought together an outstanding trio of master musicians for us, with Steve Thompson, double bass, singer and composer, who, according to Ken Peplowski, is ‘one of the few double bass players in England to get a proper sound out of his instrument’ and Rod Brown, drums, handbeats and percussion, who shaped his technique under the tutelage of the legendary Phil Seamen.

“Rod has recorded with Caravan, Renaissance and also with Clare Teal.”

Doors open 7.45pm, music from 8.30pm. For more information, call Denis Cummings on 01903 814017.
