CRAZY games and fun activities helped young and old get ‘funny for money’ to support Comic Relief.

Children and staff at Shoreham Beach Primary School donned red on Friday and painted on funny faces for the occasion.

Pupils learned how Comic Relief had changed the life of a Zambian girl, took part in a Dancethon and produced cakes and biscuits for a Bake Off competition.

More than £200 was raised and the children were rewarded with the chance to make assistant head teacher Peter Winstone ‘funny’, using face paints, glitter, wigs and hairclips.

Bake Off judge Coco Swanson said: “The children were in hysterics and Mr Winstone looked very glamorous!

“The children and staff made a huge effort to make our Red Nose Day very special. Everyone was dressed in red, with many faces made ‘funny for the money’ with make up and face paints.”

There were three categories in the Comic Relief Bake Off, whole cakes, cup cakes and biscuits.

Miss Swanson said there had been a huge number of impressive entries, with each cake judged on appearance and taste.

To round off the day, the Bake Off entries were sold in the hall after school.
