Held from October 3 to 9, Hospice Care Week will be a week of activity which aims to raise awareness of hospice care across the UK.

This year’s theme is “Hospice Care is...”. St Barnabas House will be posting on Facebook and Twitter throughout the week to raise awareness of all of the different services the hospice provides and there will be a series of interviews with nurses and volunteers on More Radio to listen out for. Tweet at @StBarnabasHouse using the hashtag #Hospicecareis... to share thoughts about hopice care.

There are other ways to get involved in Hospice Care Week. The Big Get Together is a brand new campaign organised by hospices encouraging supporters to hold a “night out IN” and have fun with friends and family. 12 hospices cross the south east will take part in this innovative new campaign, urging their supporters to make a donation towards local hospice care services. Get involved on Twitter using the hashtag #GetTogether16 or visit www.thebiggettogether.org.uk/hospice/stb/.

On Saturday, October 8, around a hundred people will be walking across the Sussex countryside as part of the South Downs Trek. Starting at Devils Dyke, the walk will take trekkers across a challenging 21 mile route, eventually finishing at the hospice where there will be champagne to celebrate. Sign up today at www.stbh.org.uk/southdownstrek.

Back for a second year due to popular demand, the Dinner and Music event hosted by Northbrook Friends of St Barnabas House will be held at Casa Ciro, Worthing, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £36 which includes a donation to St Barnabas House. Book at the restaurant or contact the St Barnabas House Fundraising Team on 01903 254777.

There are various other ways to get involved, such as by visiting a charity shop, volunteering or playing the St Barnabas lottery.
