A MUCH-LOVED servant of Shoreham has spoken of her outrage at being abused in the street.
Maureen Barnes, who celebrated 25 years as a lollipop lady by St Peter’s Primary School, last year, was left shaken by the incident.
Maureen said she was asking the woman, who was helping children into her car from the road, to close her door, to allow a bus through when it happened.
“She was screaming and shouting,” said Maureen. “She was hysterical. I have never had anything like it, not in 25 years.”
Maureen asked parents to think about their actions, adding: “We are only doing our job. We are just trying to look after children.”
