PRESSURE on school places is one objection to plans for new homes on part of the Southlands Hospital site.

An outline application for land in Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, was submitted to Adur District Council by Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust on September 24.

It seeks approval to demolish all existing redundant buildings and structures, including the Harness Block.

A total of 113 new homes are planned, comprising 23 two-bedroom houses, 24 three-bedroom houses, 14 four-bedroom houses, 28 two-bedroom apartments and 24 one-bedroom apartments.

The plans can be inspected at Adur Civic Centre or on the council’s website.

Representations in support of or against the application should be submitted in writing to Gary Peck, planning services manager, Portland House, 44 Richmond Road, Worthing BN11 1HS, to be received no later than Thursday, October 16.
