Rolls-Royce launches its area recruitment drive
PRESTIGE motors firm rolls-royce, which employs a number of staff from across the Herald and Gazette area, is embarking on its annual recruitment drive.
The move for the Goodwood-based firm, which celebrates 10 years at its present site, comes as it has recorded record sales figures.
Generating major growth in america and china, the company is planning to further expand its production facilities at its West sussex site.
Its latest £10m pound investment in production facilities is in the final stage of completion.
Since launching in 2010, the rolls-royce Ghost has been a particular success for the firm, offering a more compact variant to its flagship Phantom. another key factor in its expansion has been in offering bespoke models for its customers.
The firm has established strong links with Northbrook College in Worthing for its engineering studies, which the company hopes will continue to be a valuable link with its ongoing recruitment scheme.
Andrew Ball, the company’s east Preston-based Pr officer, believed the area remained a significant recruiting ground as the firm
continued to expand.
He said: “The company’s sales figures are fantastic news. It has been a challenging year, so to gain our best figures for the third year in a row is really good.
“We’ve been able to employ 100 more people during the past year which takes our workforce at Goodwood to 1,400 people.
“We’ve invested in ourstaff as part of the £10m upgrade to facilities here and the Worthing and
Portsmouth areas are key for our recruitment. We’ve a great portfolio of products with the Ghost and Phantom ranges, with the bespoke element of the business being something that has been particularly important.
“We’ll be looking to recruit another 10 apprentices and though this programme is open to people internationally, quite a lot
of those will come from the local area.”
Torsten müller-Ötvös, chief executive officer, added: “My aim at the outset of 2012 was another record. I am delighted to announce our sales for 2012 and to celebrate our 10th anniversary with an historic record result.”
“We had an outstanding year in spite of the challenges we faced, and Rolls-Royce now leads the
ultra luxury market by some considerable margin. I applaud the rolls-royce workforce for their passion
and commitment to this Great British brand and we can look forward to future success.”
