PLEASURE piers and their history will be explored at the next meeting of Shoreham and Southwick U3A.

Jackie Marsh-Hobbs will give a talk on A Passion for Piers at the Shoreham Centre, Pond Road, Shoreham, on Friday at 2pm.

Piers are an important part of social history, as wel as being remarkable examples of Victorian engineering. There have provided entertainment, paddle steamer berths and fishing opportunities for generations.

Entry is £1.50 for members, £2.50 non-members. Tea and coffee served at the end.
