Dennis Hunt, vice-chairman and programme secretary, said: “The club was formed by myself and a few others just over three years ago and we strive to be different from the normal camera clubs in that we do not have competitions.

“Our aim is to provide tuition, guidance and advice to all levels of photographers, starting with the basics of photography – exposure, shutter speed control, composition, etc., leading on to reasonably advanced techniques.

“There will be an extensive display of around 80 photographs taken by our members, all of whom are amateurs.”

The club meets fortnightly on Tuesdays from September to the end of May, 7.30pm to 10pm, in the Garden Room at Southwick Community Centre, Southwick Street, Southwick.

The club endeavours to provide in-depth instruction and advice on the use of cameras and equipment, focusing on the practicalities of the equipment to enable photographers to achieve the best results.

The members can decide what the programme will be, which can evolve and be tailored to their requirements.

There are in-house tutorials and demonstrations where members can gain knowledge on both camera use and photographic techniques, plus the post-processing of images.
