Speaking at his press conference this afternoon, Benitez revealed: "He is still improving but not ready for this game."

The former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool manager went on the praise Albion and Chris Hughton and speak of their crunch month.

He said: "In April we have seven games to play, and I think that will be the crucial month. We are training well, and we will stick together and help each other.

"We know that we made some mistakes the other day, but the reaction was so good - you have to think about the positives."
