A group of five monks from the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal visited the Parish of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Adur Valley, which consists of St Peter’s Church, Shoreham, The Towers Convent, Upper Beeding and Christ the King Church in Steyning.

The Friars are normally based in Canning Town in London and live a life of poverty working with the homeless and young people.

During their time here they held services in Shoreham and Steyning together with working with the Youth Group enjoying pizza and a movie with them.

Each evening included prayer, personal testimonies, music played on keyboard and guitar by the brothers and on one day conducted a healing service.

They visited St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Chatsmore Catholic High School and The Towers Convent School.

They also took the opportunity to pay a visit to the Lancing College Chapel.

The week ended with a buffet supper and party to thank them for coming here.
