Missing man from Lewes: Sussex Police say body has been found during search

Police said last week that Joe Mattelaer, 24, was reported missing from Lewes on Wednesday, July 19.

At 4.20pm today (Tuesday, August 1), a Sussex Police spokesperson announced on Facebook: “We’re sorry to update that a body has been found in the search for missing man Joe Mattelaer. His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. They would like to pass on their thanks to the public and everyone who helped in trying to find Joe.”
